L’Occitane’s newest limited edition products in their Shea Butter Fortune Flowers range takes inspiration from West African traditions. The packaging reflects basket weaving, storytelling and the hot African sun, which is appropriate for a brand who prides themselves on helping those less fortunate.
The products in this new collection include an organic lip balm ($14), body cream (pictured – $32) and hand cream (from $12) in three different scents with Rose Petals, Date Bouquet and Mango Flower. Each contains a percentage of Shea Butter making them luxurious and especially lovely for dry winter skin.
Personally I am more than a little attached to the Rose Petals Lip Balm, this has 10% Shea Butter and your lips feel soft and supple on application. I take this everywhere with me and I must say the perfumed scent is quite addictive!
For those who really want to feel like their beauty is helping people there is the L’Occitane Solidarity Fundraising Soap (50g RRP $3). This Shea Butter soap comes in Rose Petals and 100% of profits (retail price minus taxes, transport and production costs) from sales will go to NGOs, to help improve eye health in developing countries. 80% of blindness is preventable but over 280 million people in the world suffer from some form of vision impairment – and that’s where this amazing initiative comes into play.
In 2010 money raised over 80,000 people received treatments and over 400 doctors received professional training. This is one brand with a conscience, and it is one company I would certainly encourage all beauty lovers to support.
Remember, this is a limited edition collection and only available while stocks last.
