Foundation is something many of us rely on as a way to give us a boost of confidence and even out our skin. While there is a myriad of choices when it comes to foundations, often it is simply a personal choice based on your complexion and the look you wish to create.
For a flawless finish, here are a few tried and tested suggestions for you to check out next time you foundation shop:
MAC – Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
MAC is always a popular choice and it is little wonder their makeup artists are always kept busy in store creating looks for nights out over the weekend. If you are looking for a foundation that is matte, medium to full coverage and lasts – try the Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15. This will smooth over any areas you want to disguise and creates a flawless finish. If you like you can use with a MAC powder. There are 36 shades so if you are considering this it is worth popping into your closest MAC store for some colour matching advice.

L’Oréal Paris – Infallible Matte Foundation
One range I keep going back to is the Infallible collection from L’Oréal Paris. Every product I have tried in this range I have loved, and the Matte Foundation is no exception. This is your typical liquid foundation which comes in a squeezable tube and has matte coverage. This lasts quite well and is said to be waterproof, sweat proof and steam proof. It certainly needs a decent makeup remover to take it all off! There are 7 shades to choose from and you get your coverage and your smoothing, all on a budget.

Max Factor – Miracle Match Foundation

Maybelline New York SuperStay 24H Foundation
You know the line, “Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s Maybelline”. So here it is, the long lasting foundation offering from the popular beauty brand. Eight shades take you from True Ivory to Sun Beige and this is long lasting without feeling heavy. With the final result being a smooth finish and a foundation which still allows your skin to breathe, this is another budget beauty you can find at your local supermarket.

Cancer Council – BB Creme 3 in 1
Technically this is a BB Creme and not a foundation, but I wanted to give it a mention as it has decent sun protection with an SPF 30. It is from the Cancer Council and it’s their three in one BB Creme. In addition to the SPF, it is designed to reduce the appearance of ageing, add moisture and give your skin a little colour – this is available in two shades with light or medium. Applied to dry skin, you can add a second layer if you prefer a more matte coverage.
RRP $15.95 / Get it from pharmacies, leading retailers, online and Cancer Council stores Australia-wide. You might also like to read some Korean BB Cream Reviews

Hi, I’m Anna the Editor of Beauty and Lace.
I love a good non heavy everyday foundation and it’s great to see so many choices out there.
I do like the Miracle Match foundation by Max Factor. This gorgeous foundation applies lightly on my face and blends beautifully into my skin giving me more of a natural looking coverage that I just love.
