Perth Fashion Festival is wrapping up for this year, and the fashion and beauty trends are on our minds. Napoleon Perdis directed the makeup for the Ruth Tarvydas show and the brand’s Creative Team Member Kat Thompson, explains how to get the look:
What was the brief and/or inspiration for the look from the designer/brand?
The show was inspired by heatstroke, the moment of excitement, energy and extreme temperature before insanity sets in. The dresses were glowing, jewel encrusted in blacks, oranges, blues, purples and nude tones. Ruth wanted to keep her signature dark eyes but add a splash of bold colour and big lashes for high level glamour.
Describe the look:
The look kept a strong Ruth Tarvydas feel with the dark, sexy, rock-and-roll eyes; while adding a hint of heatstroke. The feature colour was added to the inner corner of the eyes to really make the eyes pop and black liner and shadow were extended on the outer parts of the eye to added the smokey definition.
Lips and cheeks were bronzed and glowing to bring the warmth to the look and a final touch of glamour was added with a splash of glitter and full fluffy lashes.
