The warm weather is upon us and when enjoying the hot rays, sun protection should be a priority. Even as someone who has always been careful in the sun, I still had to have a mole removed recently and it really makes you think.

We know Surf Life Saving have been protecting our beaches for over 100 years,  and this gives you confidence in a range of sunscreen which bares the Surf Life Saving logo. There are a few different 50+ sunscreens in the range, with UVA, UVB and water resistance.

The options available include creams and sprays in daily, sport or kids. As the products are made and tested in Australia, you know they are designed for the hot Aussie climate.

I have been testing the Sport Protection in the spray which is resistant to sweat. I am a fan of a mist spray, as when it’s a cream I always seem to squeeze too much out and end up with sunscreen hands. It also makes it easier to cover those hard to reach spots! It dries quickly, but you need to apply at least 15 minutes before going outdoors.

Sunscreen is never going to be the only solution when it comes to sun protection, we all know the slip, slop, slap (is it seek and slide now?) means covering up too. But, a good, hardworking 50+ sunscreen is an important first step.

If you are unlucky enough to get burnt, the brand also has a Soothing Aloe Vera After Sun Care spray.

Surf Life Saving sunscreen products provide protection beyond the flags that are marine friendly developed after findings that certain common ingredients in sunscreens are toxic to our environment. By purchasing these products, you are supporting Surf Life Saving, a community cause which relies on your donations to continue to save lives and keep our beaches and communities safe. For further information about Surf Life Saving Marine Friendly sunscreen range please visit www.sunlifeproducts.com.au
