Priceline attempts Guinness World Record for Charity

Priceline and Sally Hansen are putting it all together as they prepare to make history and set a new Guinness World Record while raising funds for the cancer support  charity Look Good…Feel Better.

Tuesday September 27th is to be the nail filing day, I was going to say nail breaking but that may not bring the best of luck, that sees Sally Hansen and Priceline attempt to make history and set a new Guinness World Record for the most nails filed and varnished in eight hours.

The Guinness World Record attempt will take place at Martin Place in Sydney where 100 manicurists will be on the job grooming and polishing fingernails by the thousands. The current world record stands at 1897 mini-manicures and was set in 2010 by the London College of Beauty Therapy.

Invitation is open to women and men, all are welcome to stop by for a free Sally Hansen mini-manicure. Participants will be encouraged to donate to The Priceline Sisterhood, which is the community initiative of  Priceline. Look Good…Feel Better will benefit from 100% of the proceeds.

$10,000 is the target that has been set and to help make this happen, in addition to the public donations Sally Hansen will donate an extra $5 to the Look Good… Feel Better charity for every mini-manicure.

There are quite strict guidelines to ensure that this qualifies as a serious Guinness World Record attempt! The event will run from 8.00am to 4.00pm and each mini-manicure will take approximately 12 minutes. Priceline hopes to smash the existing record and the goal is to manicure 2,000 pairs of hands which equates to 20,000 fingernails in the 8 hour period. Women will receive a file, base coat, two coats of varnish and a top coat. Men will receive a file and a buff to shine.

Chris Sheedy is the Guinness Wold Records adjudicator who will be vigilant and have all of this unfold underneath him. Sheedy has said he will be keeping a constant eye on the clock as well as checking every set of nails to ensure their quality is of a high enough standard to qualify for the record attempt.

Look Good…Feel Better will benefit from all proceeds as they go towards the cancer patient problem areas during treatment. These workshops aim to give Australian Women some of their confidence back and face the world. In Australia Look Good…Feel Better runs over 900 workshops  to help staff get their heads and their confidence back.

Throughout this momentous occasion The Priceline Sisterhood will be joining in on the event across the country, there will be no prizes and the mini – manicures won’t count for the record attempt, but any donations that are made will still be going towards the charity and count towards the fundraising total of the event.

To be involved in this groundbreaking event head into your local Priceline store or Martin Place in Sydney on Tuesday 27th September to support Look Good…Feel Better and be a part of the Guinness World Record attempt.

Guinness World Records adjudicator, Chris Sheedy, says, “Setting a Guinness World Record is no easy
feat so I’m happy to congratulate Priceline on this new record. It’s exciting to have another Aussie event
