You would probably be aware about the new sunscreen standard in Australia, with SPF 50+ varieties starting to land on our shelves. The very first SPF 50+ products I have tried are from Ella Bache with Great Sportsbloc Active and Great Facesaver Active.
The Great Sportsbloc Active didn’t last in my hands for long, it was quickly claimed by Mr Lace who is an avid outdoor sportsperson. He uses this for cycling, swimming and running and told me with excitement that I must put that “it is extremely water resistant” (4 hours) in this review.
When this is applied it doesn’t feel (or smell) like a typical sunscreen. It feels more like a luxurious oil than a cream and that is probably because it contains superfruit oils – pomegranate, cranberry and grapeseed. Other ingredients include olive oil, vitamin E and macadamia nut – and of course, UVA and UVB protection.
For the face is Great Facesaver Active which also has your super fruit oils, shea butter, jojoba oil and natural humectants. You can tell that this is more face friendly than the latter as it feels a bit lighter on your skin. This is your every day sunscreen and can be worn under makeup.
Wearing sunscreen is one of the easiest ways to help prevent premature ageing, and the new 50+ rating is a step forward in combating sun damage.
The Great Sportsbloc Active has an RRP of $44 for 130ml or $69 for 375ml
The Great Facesaver Active has an RRP of $44 for 50ml.
Products are in store now at Ella Bache salons and David Jones nationally.
