Look and Feel Beautiful With These Skin Care Tips For Every Age

One thing that every woman wants is beautiful skin that glows. But achieving beautiful skin isn’t always easy, especially as we get older. There is a common misconception that you don’t need to worry about your skin in your twenties and early thirties, but actually, that’s not the case. The fact is that whatever your age, whether you are in your early twenties or late fifties, you still need to take care of your skin.

The problem for many women is that they don’t know how to properly take care of their skin, as there is so much conflicting advice around. This means that a lot of women aren’t giving their skin the care that it needs and deserves. To ensure that you are able to look after your skin properly at every age, below are some basic skin care tips and pieces of advice to take note of.

Twenties

In your twenties your skin doesn’t really change all that much, you may start to get a few small signs of ageing as you reach your late twenties, but that’s about it. Think crow’s feet and laughter lines, but that’s about it. Even so, your skin still needs a lot of care, as when it comes to ageing the sooner you start taking care of your skin, the better.

Ask any dermatologist, and they will tell you that the best care is preventative care, which is why it’s so important to look after your skin in your twenties and get into a routine when it comes to cleansing, toning, moisturising, and exfoliating. Ideally, when you reach your mid-twenties you also want to start using anti-ageing creams under your eyes, as that’s the place where wrinkles are the most likely to occur as the skin is incredibly thin there.

To keep your skin healthy, aim to cleanse and tone twice a day and apply moisturiser afterwards. It’s also important to exfoliate your skin once or twice a week, to remove any dead or dry skin cells.

Thirties and forties

Once your thirties and forties come around, you need to slowly change up your skin care routine. You want to start using more and more anti-ageing products, instead of just using a bit of under eye cream, you want to start using an anti-ageing range of skin care products, from an anti-ageing cleanser to firming cream for the neck, you need to start using it all. Otherwise, you will find that your skin begins to age more quickly than you would like it to. As well as having a good skin care routine in place, it’s crucial that in your thirties and forties you are getting plenty of sleep – the key to staying younger for longer is plenty of sleep, so the more sleep you can get, the better. It’s also important to eat well, as the better your diet is, the healthier your skin will be.

As part of your skincare routine, don’t forget to cleanse and tone each day, followed by moisturising. It’s also important to exfoliate your skin at least two to three times a week, to help keep it looking younger and healthier.

Fifties and beyond

By the time you reach your fifties, you should be using an entire range of anti-ageing products. From face cream to cleanser, everything that you use should be made especially for mature skin. To keep the signs of ageing at bay, it’s also important to talk to your dermatologist to see what skin care products they would recommend you use, like retinol, for instance.

Older skin needs more moisturising than younger skin. So as you get older, it’s important to moisturise your skin more regularly. Otherwise, it will end up becoming dry and flaky, which is what you don’t want, so the more you can moisturise your skin, the better. Ideally, you want to use a face cream that contains collagen and elastin, as this will help to keep your skin looking more youthful for longer. As well as your regular skin care routine of cleansing and toning, it’s also important to make sure to exfoliate your skin a couple of times a week. This will remove dead and dry skin cells, helping to keep your skin looking healthier and more youthful.

There you have it, your guide to looking and feeling beautiful at every age. There is a lot more to taking care of your skin than meets the eye, which is why so many of us struggle with our skin care. But hopefully, the tips and advice will make the process of taking care of your skin that little bit easier.
