Nail Marbling is a technique I have tried my hand at, but it can be messy! Suzi from nail brand OPI has created a tutorial with stunning results, it requires patience and a little extra care but will be well worth it.
If you try it, let us know:
What you need:
- 5 different shades of OPI nail lacquer
- Fine point brush and tooth picks
- Base coat and top coat
- Polish remover
Step 1. Apply your preferred OPI lacquer on a diagonal slant separating the top half of your nail and the bottom half.
We have used OPI’s Suzi Says Feng Shui (blue) as one of our base colours and Lucky Lucky Lavender as the base colour for the top half.
Using a fine point brush, apply dots of OPI’s A Grape Fit (purple) onto the Suzi Says Feng Shui (blue) base
Using a fine point brush, apply dots of OPI’s Suzi Say Feng Shui (blue) onto the Lucky Lucky Lavender (pink) base.
Step 2. Using a tooth pick or the end of your fine point brush, swirl the colours together to create a marblized pattern. Wait at least 5 minutes for the pattern to dry. Apply a top coat onto this pattern.
Step 3. Using a fine point brush, apply white dots (we have used OPI’s Alpine Snow) onto the marbleized design.
Using a fine point brush, apply sheer pink glittery dots beside the white dots (we have used OPI’s Princesses Rule).
Step 4. Using a toothpick, swirl the colours together to create another marblized effect onto your design.
Seal in your nail art with a good quality Top Coat. Wait 10 minutes for the design to dry.
* You can use OPI’s Drip Dry to speed up the drying process.
