Marie Jenkins is the founder of the Australian skincare company Kosmea. The brand has a range of products but one of the most popular is their certified organic rose hip oil. We asked Marie to discuss this wonder product with us and tell us why it should be a staple in our beauty cabinets.

What is rose hip oil?

Rose hip oil is a fruit oil extracted from the hip of the rose. The hip is the fruit that is left after a rose has bloomed and the petals have fallen.

Where does it come from?

Kosmea sources 100% certified organic rose hips from the Maluti Mountains of Lesotho, where rose hips grow wild and are not commercially farmed.

This region is 3300 metres above sea level, resulting in high rainfall, pure, clean air and plump, juicy rose hips. The area is certified organic, which means that no artificial fertilisers or pesticides are used.

  • Scars
  • Burns

  • And much more..

Rose hip oil is like a multivitamin for your skin: rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants that are essential for skin health. Kosmea Skin Clinic™ Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil also contains more than 80% essential fatty acids to help regenerate skin cells and repair damaged skin tissue.

It is the essential fatty acids in rose hip oil that help to improve the appearance of scars, burns, wrinkles and stretch marks.

Is there anyone this wouldn’t be suitable for?

No – it’s suitable for all ages and skin types.

Are all rose hip oils certified organic?

No and there is a big difference between Certified Organic and Non Certified Organic. It’s important to use a Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil that has been Supercritically (C02) extracted to ensure you get the best quality product and the best possible results.

Is it combined with other ingredients?

No – it’s the purest Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil you can buy.

How is it applied?

Should rose hip oil be used on its own or as part of a more detailed skin routine?

Rose Hip Oil is definitely powerful enough to use on its own or use it in conjunction with our  Eighth Natural Wonder™ Revitalising Facial Serum with clinically proven MYOXINOL™ to reduce wrinkles by 26% in just three weeks.

What is the number one reason we should use rose hip oil?

    1. Hi Lorraine,

Marie from Kosmea has answered your question for you, she said,

“Yes, it is absolutely 100% safe. Rose Hip Oil is classified as a food so it’s also safe for internal use.

Rose Hip Oil can assist in healing even the deepest scars up to 20 years old. There are many studies that have been conducted in relation to the powerful benefits of Rose Hip Oil on scars and other skin concerns.

Apply at least twice daily to the affected areas remembered to always apply to damp skin to that the oil can be effectively absorbed.

      Good Luck!”

      I hope this helps!

  2. Have used this product and really found it great for my aging skin. It has helped with skin dryness and mosquito bites. Really just love the way it feels on my face and hands. Found it a great product for facials.
